BQ25155: Interrupt generation in the transition Low Power <-> Charger/Adapter Mode

Hi,

The device stands in low power (so interrupts disabled). Then it exits this state because VIN becomes greater than VUVLO and enters in Charger mode.

Will the interrupt VIN_PGOOD be generated in this transition ?

Viceversa, the device stands in Charger mode, VIN is removed and low power is entered.

Will the interrupt VIN_PGOOD be generated in this transition ?

I am trying to see if there is an alternative to the usage of the PG pin (which we need to output the /MR signal).

Hi Riccardo,

As long as the interrupt is not masked, you will see the VIN_PGOOD interrupt on both situations.

thanks for the reply.

The basic scenario I would like to achieve is this one.

The BQ25155 is as much as possible in low power, so the interrupts are disable.

PG is configured in order to follow the behavior of the /MR signal (a button).

To detect if our device is attached to and remove from an external power source, we use the interrupt VIN_PGOOD, which should be raised when BQ25155 transits from Low Power to Charger Mode and viceversa.

So, is it correct to expect always in this scenario the interrupt VIN_PGOOD to be raised and to look the bit VIN_PGOOD_STAT in order to understand the status of VIN ?

Hi Riccardo,

Yes, you should expect the VIN_PGOOD interrupt to be trigger and then you can read the VIN_PGOOD_STAT to understand the status of VIN.
