We have designed a BQ40Z50-r1 4S1P Battery Pack.

The Learning cycle has been started.

When the Fuel Gauge window is displayed, In that window the Int Temp is showing 348 DegC.(The thermistor is found to be good)

Also the current is showing 1A in the screen ,when it is not connected to any loads.

During Discharge the Current varies from 1020mA to 987mA when set discharge current is 1A..

when the current value is calibrated it changes to calibrated current value and it does not goes to 0 automatically.

Expecting the reply at the earliest.

Hello Anandan,

The EV2300 firmware version 3.1c is very old and known to have issues. You should use a EV2300 of version 3.1m. Or use the EV2400 and check if you still get the same readings.

We are still getting the same issue when connected to the EV2400.

Int Temp is showing 348 DegC.(The thermistor is found to be good) and current in meter shows -1004 even when not connected to load

Hello Anandan,

It looks like some data values related to calibration may have been corrupted. Did you try calibrating the pack?

Yes we have calibrated the Pack and still the error persists

Hello Anandan,

Do you get zero current and correct temperature readings right after calibration? If not, then calibration is not correct.

We have calibrated during charging but the gauge IC is not calibrating, Also during discharge if we calibrate the IC gets calibrated and remains in the same value even if it is not connected to loads.

2.In Another We could not able to read the battery Pin Voltage,

Hello Anandan,

It looks like the data flash is set incorrectly. To get a fresh start, I recommend that you program the default device firmware, then calibrate and check if temperature reports correctly.

Hi Shrish

After loading the Default firmware and calibration, we are getting the same error.

The error is as follows CALCULATED INTERNAL TEMPERATURE SENSOR CORRECTION IS OUT OF RANGE.

Also the current is also Showing -500 even after calibrating and does not goes to zero even not connected to loads.

Hello Anandan,

The next best option is to compare the EVM schematic with your schematic and look for differences that may impact current path. For thermistor, look if connections match the EVM.

Hello Anandan,

If this pack is an exception, then the board may have a short or may have sustained some damage like ESD event. It could even be a bad thermistor or other defective part.
