LM2576: LM2576 inverting regulator- input-output shorted

Hello,

I am using LM2576- 12V fixed version.

I refereed datasheet for inverting -12V 0.7A design, page 18, figure 8-1.

I implemented the circuit as it is, but it wont work, rather shorted pin 1 and 2 resulted damaged IC.
I am using +24V input.
