UCD7100: Over overcurrent protection

Part Number: UCD7100

Hi,

I'm current using UCD7100 as a FET driver.

Could I ask how fast the IC will response if it detect an over current (the voltage on CS pin increase significantly).

The specs only mention "25-ns cycle-by-cycle current limit protection", is it how fast the IC will drive the FET low when it sees an over current?

Thanks,

Vi Tran

  • Hi, Vi,

That will depend on the fall time of the driver driving your gate capacitance.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Vi,

    Thanks for reaching out!

    -------

"25-ns Current Sense to Output Delay", so once the current sense pin sees an overcurrent condition, there will be an approximate 25ns delay until the output changes to low.  Also, keep in mind that the FET will have a delay as well.
