LM60430-Q1: Power Designer part values are not even close to typical values on data sheet....

I do want to use a TI part, but I am not impressed that a TI part that is advertised as meeting CISPR25 standards still  needs an input filter. I also find it very troubling that the values given in the data sheet for the EMI filter, when plugged into the power designer simulator, are very close to the limits of emissions.  Editing various values of the EMI filter gives wild capacitance values. I need to call  TI expert.

    It is standard practice for any DC/DC converter to require an EMI filter to pass stringent EMI requirements.

    Although it may not always be stated explicitly that a filter is needed, it is generally understood that it is required.

     

    The values given in the data sheet for the EMI filter are the minimum required to pass a particular set of EMI requirements,

    for a given PCB layout.  They are presented as a starting point only.

    A more aggressive filter can be used, however this usually requires either more components or larger values of components.
