UCC28600: Examination of insulated power supply

Part Number: UCC28600
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC2897A

Hello,

I am considering the following two specifications for an insulated power supply.
For both specifications, I want to create a circuit on the same device.
I think the UCC28600 meets the requirements, but please let us know what you think.

(Specification 1)
Input voltage: DC24Vtyp (DC18V-30V)
Output voltage: DC12V
Output current: 5.1A (Max 6.1A)
Efficiency: 85% or more

(Specification 2)
Input voltage: AC85V to 264V
Output voltage: DC12V
Output current: 5.1A (Max 6.1A)
Efficiency: 85% or more

Best regards,

  • Hello Kaji,

For the specification 1, I recommend you chose active clamp forward solution(UCC2897A or other) due to the low input voltage and higher output power. For DCM flyback, It's a big challenge to design the transformer in such low input voltage .

For the specification 2, UCC28600 absolutely can support it.

    Thanks.
