TPS61161-Q1: CTRL and VIN sequence at power up

Hi Ti E2E,

Due to TPS61161-Q1 has a soft start built-in IC, the Vout at SW may have two step ramp up behavior at system power up.

I am wondering if there is any risk for give PWM signal to CTRL pin first then turning power rail to power up VIN to eliminating 2 steps ramping up behavior.

Or if there is any other work around solution for eliminating 2 steps Vout behavior?

Hi, Jack,

May i know the reason you want to eliminate 2 steps Vout behavior? Generally, this will help reduce boost voltage set up time.

The main reason is to exactly fit the power sequence of panel at the system power up. The smooth ramp up of backlight output is the goal.

By the way, do you have more detail information of difference about setup time between 2 steps Vout vs smooth Vout?

Could the customer try LP8867 or LP8869? They are monotonous during powering up.
