LM43602: LM43602

Part Number: LM43602

Hi,

I use DCDC LM43602 and have next have DCDC Requirements:

1. Very wide Vin – from 5.5V to 29.3V

2. Output Current – min 30mA to max. 800mA

3. Vout is 4.37V

I used TI Webench

And, calculated by formulas from Datasheet LM43602PWPR

I don’t like that TI Webench recommended to use inductor 15uH for switching freq. 440kHz

Calculation point that:

- for min Vin 5.5V  it should be less than 15uH -----12.37uH

-  for 30V more than 15uH ----- 26.41uH

Could you send your recommendation for inductor choice and switching freq.?

I understand Input Voltage too wide, but I can get compromise in efficiency

Best regards,

Anatoli

  • Hi Anatoli,

The 15uH inductor recommended by Webench could be used in your application, it just depends on how much inductor current ripple you want. Assuming 90% efficiency and a switching frequency of 90%, you can expect around 630mA of inductor current ripple with the 15uH inductor.

Are you looking to reduce the size of the inductance?

Another option is XGL4040-153MEC from Coilcraft (15uH, 2.5A Isat).
