UC27133: Clarification

Hi Team,

I have something to clarify. I have a customer who wanted a high current rating of high-side load switch (1A) but the only available we have is up to 300mA, using UC27133.

I am thinking to use multiple of them in parallel. Would it be applicable? Load switches might be, but I'm not sure with this type of load-side switch since it has different pin outs.

Any support on this on how to utilize it to be at high current usage?

    Placing devices in parallel that are fed from the same source and to the same load is allowed. The issue with paralleling devices is that the R_on values across devices could vary.

    Due to device to device variation of R_on, the split of current will not be perfectly equal. Another concern is that the turn on and turn off voltage references will not be exactly the same, resulting in one device switching before the other. I would recommend the customer test out this parallel configuration in their system and check if the performance is acceptable.

    As an alternate to this device, depending on your design considerations, a high side switch from this product folder:

    could be the right solution for you. These switches I've selected have short circuit protection as well as support a current rating of 1A and a input voltage up to 36V.

    Thank you for your detailed response.

    As we may see it with the link, the device that only available for high-side load switch is UC27133 only.

    I'll have to confirm to them with their test results if the performance would still acceptable on their design.
