UCC28950: Power management forum

Part Number: UCC28950

hello,

UCC28950 has a single control board. I want to check UCC28950 drive(OUTA,OUTB,OUTC,OUTD,OUTE,OUTF) is normally?

What signal do I need ?

  • Hello,

I would recommend ordering and evaluating the EVM for the UCC28950.  You can find the users guide at the following link.  https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sluub02

The following link will also bring you to design application note that you might find helpful. https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slua560

  • Hi,

    1. applying the bias voltages from DC source.

    2.  Not provided input voltage, because only a control  board(UCC28950)

    3. What more signals need to be provided, in order to i can check UCC28950 drive(OUTA,OUTB,OUTC,OUTD,OUTE,OUTF)  is normally?.

  • Hello,

You can put the voltage amplifier in a follower and use a DC voltage to check the duty cycle.  Then you can compare the output waveforms to the application note.

The A and B drives should be 180 degrees from each other and synchronized with the master clock.  C and D are phase shifted 180 degrees and are phase shifted to control the duty cycle.

Out E and F timing in respect with A, B, C and D can be found in the data sheet.

Lastly I think it is a good idea for you to order and evaluated the EVM.  Is has a daughter card controller and mother board power stage.  You can evaluate the output waveforms and compare it to what you have.

    Regards,

    Mike
