TPS2065D: recovering condition from current limit event

Part Number: TPS2065D

Hello,

Our customer has asked about TPS2065D recovering from current limit condition, latched off or auto retry. When I checked the datasheet  "8.3.4 Current limit", it said

"The device limits the current to IOS until the overload condition is removed".

Do we understand TPS2065D current limit works in auto-retry, that is recover current limit or short circuit condition whenever the output current reduces in normal operation current.

Best regards,

  • Hi,

If in overload condition, it will auto retry.  As remove the overload condition, it will stop auto-retry.

  • Hello,

    Thank you very much.

We understood that the TPS2065D is auto-retry OCP. Would you please also let us know if it has auto retry hiccup timer, that is wait timer released OCP to restart ?

My understanding is that TPS2065D does not have such a timer start up again as soon as OCP condition is released.

    Best regards,

  • TPS2065D OCP if the thermal temp rises at 135 degree, it will thermal cycle. The start up time is not fixed which is based on the hysteresis.

If you use the auto retry function, connect fault to EN pin, the start up time is around ton which is about 1.4ms.
