BQ24610: About Current Regulation

Part Number: BQ24610

Hi team,

My customer would like to know more about the input adapter current regulation of BQ24610.

Since the current of BUS can be detected and when it is over ACSET, charge current will be decreased to ensure the operation of system.

Then, what exactly the procedure works under CC or CV mode? Could you explain more about the adjustment of charging current?

Thanks and regards,

Rebecca

  • Dear Rebecca,

If the input current limit is not met, then the charge current will be supplied at full charge current. If however the input current limit is met, the charger will regulate the input current so it stays at the set value based on Equation 3. This means that if the supplied input power (input voltage multiplied by input current limit) is less than the desired charging power, the charge current will be reduced.

    Thanks,

    Mike Emanuel
