LMR38020: Efficiency and quiescent current for FPWM variant?

Hello,

We have a PEV application for the LMR38020: 30V-67V in, 5V and 12V out, 5mA to 1.5A mixed loads. The datasheet didn’t have any efficiency data and the EVM is not in stock (which we could use to measure efficiency). Is there any efficiency data for this chip available?

We also wanted to find out what the quiescent current draw was for the FPWM variant (LMR38020FDDAR) that is available now. The datasheet only has this data for the PFM variant.

I don't have the efficiency data you've requested however, this EVM is now available on ti.com.

Hello Harrison,

Thank you. I appreciate you checking. Any word on the FPWM variant’s quiescent current spec?

I tried again to purchase the EVM but got the same message as previously. I tried it logged in and not logged in, from the LMR38020 page and the EVM page. Following the “here” link just leads to a 404 error.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this difficulty. I'm seeing the same issue on my end as well.

I've reached out to our team internally to see how to resolve this.

I don't have the FPWM variant's quiescent current spec yet either.

I’m confused. There’s been no activity because I have been waiting for your responses to my two questions. Hopefully we can get some data from testing the EVM but it would be a lot easier if the data was already available.

Sorry for the confusion and the delay.

I don't have information regarding the quiescent current draw of the FPWM variant available at this time, the best way to get this will be to measure this on the EVM which is now orderable on ti.com.

In terms of FPWM efficiency, the below data points were taken at 400kHz, 25C:

24Vin, 5Vout, 5mA, 55% efficiency

24Vin, 5Vout, 1.5A, 89% efficiency

48Vin, 5Vout, 5mA, 35% efficiency

48Vin, 5Vout, 1.5A, 85% efficiency

64Vin, 5Vout, 5mA, 3.9% efficiency

64Vin, 5Vout, 1.5A, 82% efficiency
