TPS254900-Q1: Device Mode CDP and Connecting to Host PC with 5V on VBUS

Part Number: TPS254900-Q1

Hi Team,

If the TPS254900-Q1 is in CDP Mode and has 5V supplied to the IN pin by a stand-alone DC/DC converter, what are the consequences of connecting over USB to a Host PC, which would also be supplying 5V on the VBUS line? Normally, this setup would happen when the TPS254900-Q1 is in Client Mode, which would block the two 5V supplies from connecting to one another. But in this case, the two 5V supplies can be connected since the TPS254900-Q1 is in CDP Mode.

Please let me know what the consequences of this would be.

Thank you,

Jared
