BQ34Z100-G1: Update status not change to 06 after CHG-RELAX-DSG-RELAX

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

hi TI expert,

I start a new thread here, the old one is not replied for few days, maybe it has been mark with solved.

here some info. of my project

I have select a 15Ah 3.2V LiFePO4 Cell for a 3P7S pack.

Before setting the relative parameters, i do some calculation below, please help to check the procedure and the result.

1.   real design capacity is 45Ah>29Ah  and the the real disign energy is 45Ah*3.2V=144000mWh>32767mWh

      that is mean I need to scale the parameters

2.  45Ah / 29Ah=1.55, need to set the scale by 2;

     144000mWh /  32767mWh=4.39, need to set the scale by 5;

     ultimately  use the scale by 6;

3.  setting the relative parameters as below

       Design Energy Scale=6

      CC Threshold=45000mAh / 6 * 0.9=6750mAh

     Design Capacity=45000mAh /6= 7500mAh

      Design energy= 45000mAh / 6 *3.2V =24000mWh

i am performing the Golden learning.

after CHG-RELAX the update status is change from 04 to 05, and the Qmax cell0 update to 32000mAh, it seems to be right?

But when i discharge the pack at 0.18C till the cell voltage reach 2.58V which is the CUV protection point of cell monitoring.

and after 6hours relax, the update status is not change to 06, and the grid number is 5, i can see the Ra update at the begining but not finish.

Chem ID is 457

is there any setting relate to this learning? would you please show me this key parameters?

  • Allen,

    while discharging at 0.18C is above the absolute minimum discharge rate, a rate closer to C/5 is recommended. I would bet this is why you see some resistances update in the beginning of the dsg cycle but not toward the end. Without these resistance updates occurring, update status will never become 06. If this does not fix the issue let me know and we can look for other possible solutions.

    Thanks,

    Jackson
