LM25069: Recommended external MOSFET for 16.5A Iout application.

Hi team

Could you help check if LM25069 + CSD17570 is suitable for 16.5A Iout application?

Vin=12V&5V
Iout=16.5A

The customer prefers to hot-swap device with internal MOSFET, but we only have 15A max. TPS25982 now.

Considering the presence of margin for output current spec, it seems that solution using external MOSFET would be more reasonable.
Hence I am wondering if you could help check if LM25069 + CSD17570 is suitable for this requirement? These devices are already used in my customer.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Please share the maximum capacitance value at the output of LM25069 and the timer duration. I would like to verify the MOSFET SOA margin. Generally, we recommend to use CSD16415Q5 due to better SOA as compared to CSD17570Q5B.

I could check the maximum capacitance value with my customer.

For the timer duration, do you mean the time it takes for the capacitor to be fully charged? I guess the high inrush current may damage MOSFET and you want to check the maximum possible inrush current peak value.
