UCC27511: used as driver for HS MOS

Hi Team,

Just want to check if below use is OK or not.

UCC27511 is a LS driver and I'd like to use it as below to drive HS MOS.

below is a buck HS output, using boostrap to drive HS MOS. Then connect SW to GND pin of UCC27511, BTST1 connect to Vdd of UCC27511,HIDRV connnect to IN+ of UCC27511, then connect OUTH/L to gate of HS mos, does it works?

I think it should work, but during test, BTST1-SW1 is only ~2V, but the REGN should be ~5V. so want to double check with you on this. Thanks.

You should be able to use the the UCC27511 as a high-side driver.

This Application Note may help you (please see page 4).

Confirm that you have a bootstrap capacitor for the UCC27511.

Thanks for your reply. I use external 5V as bias and IN4148 as diode, Cboot=100nf, it still cannot drive the MOS. what's your recommendation on diode and Cboot? The MOS is PSMN6R1-30YLD. Thanks.

Please see this application note (https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slua887) regarding bootstrap circuit's component selection. Section 3.1 and section 3.3 talk about bootstrap capacitor and bootstrap diode respectively.
