Hi ,

I am looking into using BQ4050 charge temperature range to communicate with a suitable charger.

What charger do you recommend so I can use JEITA to limit charge current and voltage according to temperature?

Hi Majid,

For the battery configuration and charge current requirement, you can take a look a the BQ24610 for standalone operation or BQ25730/BQ25731 for I2C controlled charge controller.

Do they get commands from BQ4050, or any other gauge, directly to adjust charge current according to temperature?

I am looking for a solution to be able to charge the pack in extreme temperature conditions at different charging rate.

Hi Majid,

I am not sure if BQ4050 can act as a SMBus host to write to a charger. You might want to post in a separate thread on the battery gauge forum to check on this. If you are looking for a SMBus controlled charger, then you can check out BQ25720.
