I have a 10uF output cap and a 4.7uF input cap. The application diagram as shown on pg. 11 of the datasheet shows a 10uF Vin cap. and a 100uF Vout cap. Also notes for these are;

Vout Cap - Output capacitor selection is critical for regulator stability. Larger COUT values benefit the regulator by improving
transient response and loop stability.

Vin Cap - CIN is recommended if TLV1117 is not located near the power-supply filter.

I’m only pulling 100mA (max) through the LDOs. I’m not quite sure if I’ll have enough space to fit a 100uF as recommend in TI’s datasheet.

Here is the input from TI;

The TLV1117 will work with 10uF of output capacitance but the capacitor must have between 0.2ohm and 10 ohm of ESR. This means ceramic caps will not work unless you add a series resistor with the cap. I have used a small, low cost tantalum capacitor (p/n TAJB106M006R) with the TLV1117 before with success.

If cap size and pcb space are a concern, then suggest the LP2981-33, and the LP2950-33 as alternatives. -Leonard
