TPS6594-Q1: TPS659413 EVM

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA829, TDA4VM

Hi Expert,

1. Hardware platform TDA4+ TPS65941213+TPS65941111, Reference schematics: DRA829_TDA4VM_3Ph_Dual_Leo2.0_PDN-0C_v0.17.pdf; FB_B3(Pin 49) connected with VDD_MCUIO_3V3_LS signal;

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1032558/tps6594-q1-tps65941213-can-not-work

1)  VCCA(Pin 4), VIO_IN(Pin 48), PVIN_B1/2/3/4/5(Pin 26/17/45/54/35) , PVIN_LDO/4/3/12(Pin 8/10/12): 3.3V;

2) OVPGDRV(Pin 52): 8.9V;

3) VSYS_SENSE(Pin 51: VCCA_OVP): 3.3V, it is for  overvoltage monitoring.

4) nPWRON/ENABLE(Pin 20): 2V8 (Minimum VIH threshold voltage 1.26V)

5) VOUT_LDOVINT(Pin 2), VOUT_LDOVRTC(Pin 3), OSC32KCAP(Pin 40):  can output 1V8;

6) LEOA_SCLK(Pin 23: GPIO5), LEOA_SDATA(Pin 24: GPIO6): we measured 5MHz waveform, the waveform will disappear after 10s.

7) It is strange that there is 0.15V leakage voltage on VOUT_LDO2(Pin 11: VDD_MCUIO_1V8_REG) of TPS65941213.

we remove R450 resistor, make GPIO4 floating, we abserve things are not changed.

it seems peripheral voltages are ready, but TPS65941213 can not start.

2. We got TPS659413 EVM, please see following jumper configuration, TPS659413 EVM is same phenomenon with our customized TDA4+TPS65941213+TPS65941111;

After we insert type C USB cable, D3/D4/D5/D6 LED on, fail to install USB driver on windows 7 operation system, success to install Scalable-PMICs-GUI 2.0.0 application software.

we change the other compuster, success to install USB driver on windows 10 operation system, but fail to install Scalable-PMICs-GUI 2.0.0 application software.

Only VOUT_LDOVINT(Pin 2), VOUT_LDOVRTC(Pin 3), OSC32KCAP(Pin 40):  can output 1V8; the other LDOs and Bucks can not output.

1) We can not download TPS659413 EVM user guide from TI public website, please provide TPS659413 EVM user guide.

2) please provide website link of USB driver and Scalable-PMICs-GUI 2.0.0 application software.

3) TPS659413 I2C device address? is it 0x48 ?

  • Hello Jiacai,

    I have assigned this thread to the product expert. Note there can be delays to answer due to US national holiday.

    Thanks.

  • 1. Read following register value from 0x48 I2C device address on TPS659413 EVM, how to activate LDOs and Bucks output ?

    2. We will further debug TDA4+TPS65941213+TPS65941111 after TPS659413 EVM can output LDOs and Bucks.

    3. So far we can not read registers value from 0x48 I2C device address on our development board(TDA4+TPS65941213+TPS65941111 ) via other I2C probe and read tool.

  • Hello,

    Have you tried downloading the user guide from here:

    https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvubt0a/slvubt0a.pdf

    Thanks.

  • 1.We downloaded TPS659413 EVM user guide, TPS659413 EVM can not output LDOs and Bucks because of input overvoltage yesterday, now TPS659413 EVM is OK.

    2. Check registers value of TPS659413 EVM, our development board can work, LDOs and Bucks output correct voltages.
