bq20z45R1 change from Default configuration

Hi All,

I am using the bq20z45R1 in a 2-cell application with LFP cells.  When I power up the device, I am not able to change from the default 3-cell configuration in Operation CFG A to the 2-cell I need (Operation Cfg A = 0x0129) because of flags due to cell undervoltage and over temp on TS2. I only want to use TS1 in my aplication.  When I go through the bqEasy steps, I am also not able to write to dataflash because of the CUV flags being set.  Instead I get a DFF PF flag.  Is there an overwrite to ignore the flags in order to configure the dataflash?

  • I'll send you a default PF clear command in private message, assuming you haven't change the command.

The CUV ad OT are 1st level safety. That will not prevent you from updating data flash.

I'm not sure why you'll get a DFF. Did you reprogram DFI? If so, you should make sure the DFI match the FW version. A mismatch of DFI and FW version could set the DFF flag. In some cases, it may even lock up the device and you'll have to throw it away.
