REF3450: REF3450SQDBVRQ1

Part Number: REF3450

Page 3 (table 6.1) of the D/S states under pin 1 (NC): "Test pin, connect from 0V to 18V." Towards the end of the document is a layout drawing that shows this pin connected. However, this pin is not discussed in the D/S. Can this pin be left floating or does it have to be tied to a voltage, and if so, what voltage level should it be tied to?

Part number: REF3450SQDBVRQ1

Thank you. Falk

  • As the table indicates the pin is used internally (not NIC) so it needs to be connected to some known voltage and not left floating. That is the intent behind the description connect from 0V to 18V. I believe the layout in Fig13-2 does not show this pin connected to avoid the perception that it must be connected to a particular (e.g. GND or IN) potential. Hope this helps or this required connection is an issue.

  • Thank you Ajay for your response. I would recommend to be more clear in the datasheet, especially since the pin is named "NC" which often implies a no connect. I will connect the pin to GND.

  • Hi Falk,

One thing to note, the REF34 is a 12V part and the suggestion in Table 6.1 is not correct.  The voltage should say 0V to 12V.  I hope this helps.
