TPS63900: Using 2P LiSoCl2 batteries with TPS63900

We have LORA Asset tracking application where we use 2 nos of LiSoCl2 in parallel configuration to generate +3.3V system voltage using TPS63900.

I have below concerns for this part which need to be addressed.

Would this part work with this parallel battery configuration?
Is there any changes in efficiency performance or Quiescent current performance of this this part due to parallel configuration?

Hi Abhi,

i think it is not a good idea to use 2nos of LiSoCI2 in parallel, the higher voltage one will charge another and cause a larger power loss or destroy themself. like two voltage source in parallel.

for TPS63900, i think it will be ok and no changes about efficiency and Quiescent current.

We are using two same LiSoCl2 batteries in parallel to increase its mAH capacity and keep the voltage at same level.

What is reason to not use in parallel configuration? Is there anything special about LiSoCl2 batteries?

Hi Abhi,

my concren is that it seems impossible to keep this two batteries in same output voltage all the time.

as you know, two voltage source in parallel is not allowed.
