BQ40Z50-R3-DEVICE-FW: Turbo Mode: sustained peak power (SPP) and maximum peak power (MPP)

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R3-DEVICE-FW

Hi

I have two questions about the  sustained peak power (SPP) and maximum peak power (MPP) values for Turbo mode feature.

1. What are the conditions that SPP and MPP would report 0? Here are the conditions that I can think of: Update status is not 0x0E, SBS.RSOC = 0%, reaching the terminate voltage, Vload is lower than Min System Voltage. Are there any other conditions would cause SPP and MPP become 0?

2. What would be the conditions that SPP and MPP values will be the same?

Thanks.

  • Jack,

    1) These should be the conditions.

    2) SPP and MPP are capped to 2C and 4C. When MPP is below 2C they should be the same, because MPP is always a 10mSec pulse following the 10Sec SPP pulse. If you cant apply 2C for 10Sec you cant apply more current at the end of it.

    Thanks,

    Eric Vos
