My customer is starting to work with the BQ40Z80's ability to tell them how much actual runtime is left in the unit. They are propagating the runtime information from the battery directly to a display to show the consumer expected time remaining.
What they are finding is that when changing an operation mode in the product, the information from the BMS gradually seeks to a "more" correct value.
They are hoping to have a jump in runtime remaining when a consumer changes modes (say from 5 to 8, to 10 amps) and show a clear change in the runtime as they cycle through the modes (say 30 min to 15 min to 5 min).
What is the appropriate message set to use from the BQ for this type of information?
They are currently using 0x11 RunTimeToEmpty.
