BQ25890: Absolute maximum IBAT

Hi team,

My customer is testing TAS5825P as a load, then inrush current IBAT is over 9A (below 10A) for few milliseconds. It exceeds the recommended operating conditions, is that no problem? If it has an absolute maximum rating, please let me know.

Additionally they tested TAS5825P with BQ25883 as well, but BQ25883 accepts IBAT<9A up to 1us per datasheet. It is 1s at BQ25890 but is it really "1us" at BQ25883?

Hi Ning,

if the customer use BQ25890 with IBAT > 9.xA for few millisecond and find defective product/any fail, TI doesn't accept the return?

It's not absolute maximum rating, so I'm not sure.

Hi Ning,

I want to know how long it can tolerant at 10A? For example 10A for 500ms is okay for the customer application, so if you can calculate the duration please let me know. It is difficult to change the design at this moment.

Hi Ning,

Discharging current. VSYS pulls over 9A (under 10A) for few milliseconds so that I need to know how long it can tolerant at 10A.

Kazuto,

Please avoid to pull more than 9A battery discharging current. Otherwise, the device could be damaged or the device reliability could be affected.
