BQ24725A: No battery circuit

BQ24725A: Testing BQ24725A charging without battery attached

Part Number: BQ24725A

If there is no battery connected to the BQ24725A, will it damage the circuit if we enable charging? 
What if we disconnect the battery during charging? Will this damage the circuit?

I imagine the circuit protections within the IC will detect this and not attempt to charge, but I was hoping someone could confirm.

    Hi,

      There will be no damage if charge is enabled with no battery connected, The charger will charge/discharge the output capacitors so you would expect to see sawtooth waveform on the output. Disconnecting the battery due to charging will not affect the charging circuit. It will charge the output capacitors and there will be no damage.
