WEBENCH-POWER-DESIGNER: LM5118 does not export to Altium correctly

Part Number: WEBENCH-POWER-DESIGNER

In this design:

https://webench.ti.com/appinfo/webench/scripts/SDP.cgi?ID=F4A9D93C9781FC14

When I export a number of issues are seen:

1.  Add parts that are not in the schematic:  Are they needed??

2.  Components rotated.

3.  Not all pins shown correctly in the schematic.  Some are missing.

  • Hi John

Thanks for interest in Webench. We are able to replicate the Altium issue and started looking into it. We should be able get back with updates by end of the week.

  • Hi John,

Please find our observations on above query,

For #1, Few components in board files are added as placeholders (eg. Cvccx, D3) which gives the option to add extra component on PCB if required. Kindly ignore/ remove the traces if not required.

For #2,  We observe netlist issue for M1, This needs an update in WEBENCH export tool. PCB export tool is currently getting updated to fix such kind of issues, unfortunately we don't have timeline for the fix. Alternatively selecting MOSFET with different package(other than DQK0006C) will help you with export.

For your input condition we selected MOSFET with different package(DNH0008A, DQG0008A ) and  exported. PFA the board file for your immediate reference, We have removed extra components and selected MOSFET with DQG0008A package, Hope this helps.

For #3,  As per our infrastructure, We display 2( for diode),3( for FET) pins in schematic but footprint gets mapped with the actual number of pins in exported Board file.
