Cause of UCC28950 Failure?

Hi,

We are trying to see gate pulse without connecting MOSFET's with externally applied +12V.

The current consumed by IC is around 80mA and the voltage measured at VREF is 7V

How could we check the gate pulse before we connect the MOSFETs?

regards,

Anand

  • Adding 100pF capacitance (or capacitance of interest) between each drive-pin and GND-pin can simulate the gate capacitance of a FET. So there is no need to connect a real FET to test the drive pulse's performance.

The gate drive pulses from OUTA/B/C/D/E/F -pin should still be obsreved when these drive pins are open, i.e.,  no connection on these pins. So it sounds like something else needs to take care of to the desbribed issue.
