UCD9248: Fusion Digital Power Designer - need help, want to dock the Configuration window - or some way to make programming easier, all in one window

Part Number: UCD9248

Using Version 7.6.1.

This version of Fusion Digital Power Designer requires many more clicks (and much more steps in my test procedure) to change one of the power rails on a Xilinx FPGA board, than it used to take with the old version.  I don't know if it has to be that way - am I missing some way to dock some windows?  Trying to keep the procedure simple for some technicians, etc.  Procedure was all complete and now a new test computer with new version of Fusion Digital Power Designer is going to require many more steps.

This used to be very simple.  I am just changing one power rail from 2.5V to 3.3V on a KC705 xilinx FPGA development board that has three UCD9248's.

Here's what I want to see, (screen shot of old version of Fusion Digital Power Designer (2.0.89) from our test procedure), and everything was done on one screen:

Here's what I see now:  I have to click "configure device" to open a separate window, then select the correct rail in a drop-down at the top.  Am I missing something?  Did the software get much more difficult to use or am I missing some mode or window to enable editing all in one window?  I am hoping I am just missing something so I don't have to screen-shot windows, etc to rewrite the procedure.

  • Hi

Yes, GUI 7.0 has lots changes since more and more customer are using the GUI to configure multiple TI PMBus power device. it is more convenient to have a single GUI to support multiple device as the same time so that customer does not need to launch one GUI for one device. That's the driving force to have the GUI7.0 to support multiple device under its system view. .

If you prefer, you can still use the old 2.x GUI as long as they meet your need.
