The maximum VIN value of the LM5146 is lower than the LM5145, Realy?

What is the real maximum value for LM5146 if this is an error?

    The LM5146/-Q1 was specified slightly more conservatively than the LM5145/-Q1. Of course, it's the recommended operating range that is important, and the LM5146 goes to 100V.     the maximum is equal to the recommended one, this is very strange.

    I need a controller for a converter with an input range of 16-96 Volts. Load 12V@3A. Minimum load current is 0,1 A. LM5146 seems like a good choice.

    Yes, the LM5146 is a good option here. You can use the LM5146 quicstart calculator to assist with component selection: https://www.ti.com/tool/LM5146DESIGN-CALC

    Also, use the LM5146 EVM design as guidance for a PCB layout design that minimizes switch-voltage overshoot/ringing, especially given that Vin-max of 96V for the application is close to the max rating of the controller. See this app note for more detail on optimized power stage layout www.ti.com/lit/SNVA803 (in particular, input capacitor placement).
