BQ25798: Difference between BQ25798BKUPEVM and BQ25798EVM

Hi,

What are the differences between BQ25798BKUPEVM and BQ25798EVM?

1. the absence of C33 and C34 (the 33uF capacitors on PMID needed for backup mode)

2. on the datasheet, page 18, in the BQ23798BKUP schematic, we see BQ25796RQM as U1 component, is that a typo? should it be BQ25798RQM?

If we buy BQ25798EVM and we manually solder C33 and C34, do we get BQ25798BKUPEVM?

Hi FM,

Yes, the only difference between the two EVMs are the two capacitors, C33 and C34, on PMID. If you manually solder two or more 33uF, low-ESR capacitors on PMID, BQ25798 backup mode operates as intended.
