BQ25723: Connection few BQ25723

Part Number: BQ25723
Hello, can you tell me if it is possible to connect 3 BQ25723 to one battery of 4S Li-on configuration?
All BQ25723 work in OTG mode. The first BQ25723 in OTG mode generates a voltage of 3.3V current 8A, the second BQ25723 in OTG mode generates a voltage of 5V current 8A, the third BQ25723 in OTG mode generates a voltage of 12V current 8A

  • Hi Pavel,

Using a single battery to power 3 chargers in OTG mode is ok. You can imagine it as just a voltage supply (battery) going through 3 separate regulators as long as the 3 outputs are on different rails.

Are you also attempting to use the 3 chargers to charge one battery at the same time? You will need to do more there and make sure the chargers terminate charging before each other so the voltage loop doesn't fight against each other. Extensive testing is highly recommended for this application.

Here is a tech note on dual chargers. Not everything applies here because the architecture of the described parts are different, but it should still be helpful. Key page is page 2.

Thanks and I hope this helps,
