Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50EVM-561, TPS25750,
Hello,
I'm trying to prove out USB-PD for use in our product.
I currently have a battery pack attached to a BQ40Z50EVM-561, and the output power from that going into the BATT and GND inputs on the USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01. I am using the TPS25750 Application Customization Tool to configure it as I want; created a full flash binary; and flashed it via TotalPhase's Flash-Center with an Aardvark (and configured for the flash chip on the board) and a USB-C plugged in to power the board. I adjusted the jumper on the board for a 4s pack.
At this point, I can use my system to discharge. I can attach a PD load (PassMark PM125), and adjust the current draw up to 3A @ 5V.
However, if I attach a power source (like a laptop USB-PD supply) to the USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01, the battery does not charge. I was starting to look at the PD messages to see if I could understand the problem, but since the configuration is so simple, I thought I'd ask if someone saw something obviously wrong with how I had it configured.
Here is the config settings (that I can load with the TPS25750 Application Customization Tool):
{"questionnaire":{"version":"7.0.2.1","answers":[0,0,0,0,3,0,1,null,1,null,0,16.8,0.75,0.08,0.12],"options":{},"configID":"0000","vendorID":"0000"}}
Some thoughts:
1) Do I need to do anything else on the USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01 itself? (adjust jumpers, use another port, etc.)
2) Anything wrong in my configuration? My application is basically a portable battery pack (so no data, but can sink and source). I have only have a 4s1p string of cells at the moment, so the settings were configured pretty low.
Thanks!
