BQ76952: Connection when Fewer cells

Hi,

I would like to ask the connection when the fewer cells than 16s.

When it is used for 14s, can we select the unused pin randomly? (except VC0,1,2,15,16)

Both connection in the picture will work?

Hello Yuto,

Yes, either one would work. You will have to adjust the programming to specify which cells are not being used (see Section 13.3.2.19 of the Technical Reference Manual).

I would also recommend you to read Section 4.5 of the BQ76952 EVM User Guide, it shows an example for 14s connection. For detailed cell connections, I would also recommend you read Section 16.6 of the datasheet for more information on shorting unused pins.
