LM5050-1-Q1: duration time under maximum rating

Part Number: LM5050-1-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5050-1

Dear team,

In the datasheet, our IN, OUT pin have 100V maximum rating, and their recommend value is 75V. For my customer application, the voltage of IN pin is from 94V to 54V, and ramp down time is 2s, is it ok?

I know that exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability, but do we have the detailed value for the duration? Is 2s too long?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hi Sherry,

Let me check if the LM5050-1 device can withstand 100V at its input for 2s and get back to you within a couple of days.

  • Hi Sherry,

Apologies for the delay in response.

We do not have enough data to verify if LM5050-1 device can withstand 94V at its input for 2s. To be on a safer side it is recommended to consider that the device can only withstand 75V for longer/ DC duration. For very short durations, say 10ms, the device will be able to withstand 100V.
