BQ25570: External Charger in conjunction with bq25570

Hello,

For the bq25570 architecture, how would one use an external charger OR the energy harvesting functionality of this architecture? My first thought was to find some type of OR circuit where the battery is. At that node, we could then add an external charger. Does TI have any recommendations on ICs to accomplish this?

    Hi Kevin,

    Since the BQ25570 is low power and only provides constant voltage (CV) charging, you can connect the VBAT pin directly to the battery output pin of second charger.  A diode OR typically is not necessary.  Keep in mind that this IC is powered from VSTOR=VBAT so it will sink its Iq even if no energy harvester is attached.
