LM34919: LM34919 Control output voltage with PWM

Hello TI team,

we have a question about the LM34919.

Application:

Input voltage 16V- 36V

Output voltage 24V (at 25V-36V)

 

We want to regulate the output voltage from 8V-24V with a PWM.

Is this possible?

Are there any application suggestions?

We made experiments with the SS pin. With this it seems to be possible.

Are there problems between 16 and 24 V?

Here the output voltage should follow the input voltage (- internal losses)

 

Question 2:

The inrush current (<1s) of the load is 800mA. Can the current limit be increased from 600 mA to 800 mA?

  • Hi Bjoem

    The output voltage can be adjusted by:

    1. changing SS pin voltage,

    2. bias the FB node with external voltage (use LPF to filter PWM signal)

    3, Use digital control potentiometer on feedback

    The LM34919 has PGD pin, you can use this PG signal to enable the load, the output cap can support additional transient current by this way.
