BQ24610: What is the correct connection of D1 cathode?

Part Number: BQ24610

The BQ24610 EVM has the D1 cathode connected between R14/C16 whereas the data-sheet has the D1 cathode connected directly to BTST. Which one is correct? I always lean towards the EVM design as it obviously works, but this seems to be the exception in this case and the data-sheet and design checklist have the D1 cathode connecting directly to BTST.

    R14 can be used to slow down the BTST charging pulse which helps with EMI. Even if not requiring, BTST R, it is still good to include a 0 ohm R if it is required later on in prototype testing. You are right that EVM should be followed closer. The datasheet will show typical operation.
