Hi! Could you tell me if the LP3878MR-ADJ (PSOP-8) device is always installed on the LP3878-ADJ EVAL/NOPB board by default? Is it possible to manufacture LP3878-ADJ EVAL/NOPB with LP3878SD-ADJ (LP-8) installed? And what is required for this? Thanks.

Hi Anna,
Yes the PSOP-8 (NGT) is populated by default. This eval board actually already has a landing pad for the LLP-8 (DDA) package, so all you need to do is depopulate the PSOP-8 and populate the LLP-8. These boards are already manufactured, so they will only come with the PSOP-8 installed.

Nick
Dear Nick, thanks. The housings are mixed up. According to the technical specifications, there should be PSOP-8 (DDA) and LLP-8 (NGT), respectively. Please check. So the evaluation board is manufactured only with the LP3878MR-ADJ version in the PSOP-8(DDA) case from the manufacturer?
Hi Anna,
Yes that is correct. We do not have any of these EVMs in house right now, but there are images of the fabricated boards on the product page showing that the NGT package is installed on the EVM while the DDA landing pad is left unpopulated. We do not support requests to have special versions of EVMs manufactured.
Regards,
Nick
Hi Nick, thanks for the information. Could you tell the board in 2018 was manufactured with the LP3878SD-ADJ chip in the LLP-8 (NGT) enclosure?

Anna
