BQ25890: Some questions about BQ25890

Part Number: BQ25890

Dear Team,

We have a case of using BQ25890.

With only battery power, It is found that BQ25890 will consume about 1.76mW (@3.7V),

This power consumption is not compatible with the Datasheet (Figure 1 below).

Q1: When the battery is powered, is there any register that needs to be set to save power?

Q2: I have checked the datasheet (Figure 2 below) which may be related to the battery monitor. Can the battery monitor be turned off to save power when it is powered by the battery?

Q3:

In addition, we found that when the battery is powered,

The voltage of REGN will jump in the following waveform,

Is this normal?

Many Thanks,

Jimmy

  • Jimmy,

    1. It actually refers to the leakage from the VBUS pin.

    2. Just not to enable ADC by resetting REG02[6]=0 and REG02[7]=0. Please refer to 9.2.8 Battery Monitor on the d/s.

    3. Please disable 1s continuous conversion by resetting REG02[6]=0, REG02[7]=0 should also be 0.

    Thanks,

    Ning.
