I have a question about how to stop charging and discharge the battery.

When an adapter is connected (VBUS supply = 5V to 20V) Is there any way to stop charging and switch to battery operation Is there a way to stop charging and switch to battery operation?

This is for battery capacity calibration.

I would like to force the device to switch to battery operation and discharge the battery with the circuit load, and then recharge the battery when the battery capacity drops below a certain threshold.

I have checked the LEARN function, but I am not sure if this function can be used.


The LEARN function switches to adapter operation when the battery voltage drops below a certain level, so I don't think I can achieve my desired operation.

    Hi, 

    "LEARN function allows the battery to discharge while the adapter is present. It
    calibrates the battery gas gauge over a complete discharge/charge cycle.
    When the battery voltage is below battery depletion threshold, the system
    switches back to adapter input by the host." Yes, learn mode can be used.

    Do you have a detailed manual for the LEARN function?
    Also, could you please provide information on the following specifications?

    1.Discharge specifications for LEARN mode  (discharge current, discharge method, discharge time, etc.)


    2.Are the charging specifications for LEARN mode as per the specifications set by the user?


    3.What is the battery drain threshold value?


    4.What are the discharge/charge cycle specifications for LEARN mode?
    　　(cycle time, number of cycles, etc.)

    Hi, 

    Entering learn mode, the buck-boost converter stops switching, the BATFET is turned on. The system load determines the discharge spec. There is no charge in learn mode. It exits the learn mode when the battery drops to low voltage threshold which is 2.8V for 1S, 5.6V for 2S etc. Please check the cycle specification with the battery manufacturer.

    Is it possible to control the voltage threshold for exiting the learn mode?

    It is not desirable for the learn mode to automatically end when a certain voltage (such as 2.8V) is reached.

    I want the learn mode to continue until 2.5V.

    Unfortunately, this threshold is fixed inside the part, it is NOT adjustable through register settings.
