LM74700QDBVRQ1 storage temperature

Hello,

This is a question of LM74700QDBVRQ1 storage temperature.

According from the data sheet, it is from -40C deg.  to +150C deg.

But some similar devices, which have same process and and/or same Device temperature grade 1, have different storage temperature range, like -55C deg. to +150C deg.

Where does the difference come from? One of our customers asks us the reason to answer.

I appreciate if you would give me some suggestion as much as you can disclose.

    Hi Takao Sugawara,

    The parameters of LM74700QDBVRQ1 are characterized only for -40C deg. to +150C deg. The same device, if its parameters were characterized  for -55C deg.  to +150C deg would be released as a Extended Temperature (ET) part with -55C deg.

    When characterized upto -55C the parameters Min-Max limits would be relaxed when compared to that of -40C. As most of the applications require only up to -40C, we choose to characterize and release the device rated as -40C as we can get a tighter Min-Max parameter limits.
