Hello,
I have question about RBFET (Q1).
we need to guarantee for few seconds that the PMID voltage is > ~4.9V. when we use boost is all fine, but when USB is connected the PMID is directly connected from VBUS, and while tests in the lab is fine we have some concerns:
USB spec is quite permissive and we might have in the future some users that use poor USB ports. we currently detect this condition, but we haven't found a way to disconnect the RBFET from software. So we must ask user to disconnect manually which is very poor user experience.
So, is it possible to disconnect RBFET and force boost mode under software control? from the documentation it seems not. it seems Q1 FET Gate control is performed by HW without option for the software to force disconnection.
Additionally when unplugging USB while this mode is running we have a short power failure on PMID, I would like to avoid this, by disabling charger and starting boost mode from battery from the software.
Thank you
