Dear Team,
The SCL between MCU and 23881 operates at 400KHz on our customer's board.
Could you guide us how to adjust the SCL frequency? Thanks!
Many Thanks,
Jimmy

Hi Jimmy, since the I2C master drives the frequency, this should be changed at the MCU. Is this the FirmPSE solution using the MSP430? If so, I recommend reaching out to the MSP430 team who will know how to adjust the SCL frequency.
Also, 400kHz is a typical operating frequency, is customer planning to go faster than 400kHz? Thanks!
Dear Darwin,
Thanks a lot!
Yes, Customer like to decrease the frequency from 400KHz to 100KHz at MCU. They read PSE information from MCU but sometime the data was wrong. So, Thay like to change I2C clock to 100KHz between MCU and 23881.
I have check it with our MCU FAE, he said:
Sorry, I can’t help. The PSE firmware source code is owned by BU only. I can’t modify it. If the requested feature can be configured by GUI, then you need to ask BU to support it.
May I ask whether GUI can configure it or not? Thanks!
One more question.
The following is customer topology, and it operates at 100KHz and 400KHz respectively. Please help check if the unbalanced frequency combination will cause any issues. Thanks.
Many Thanks,
Jimmy
Hi Jimmy, I just checked the FirmPSE and EVM GUIs and unfortunately it cannot be changed there. I have seen the clock rate in the MSP430 reference code if this helps the customer. For the TPS23881, i don't see an issue with operating it at 400khz as majority of PSE designs that i have seen will operate at this frequency. Thanks!
