TPS7A52: Accuracy

Part Number: TPS7A52

Hi,

I noticed that the datasheet of TPS7A52 has 2 accuracy specifications, one with bias rail and another without.

The accuracy with bias rail is better than without, why would that be? Does this mean, even for higher input voltages I could use bias rail and get 0.5% accuracy?

Thanks & Regards,

Priya

  • Hello,

I am looking into this, I will get back to you by the end of the day tomorrow.

  • Hello,

Providing a supply voltage at the BIAS pin has an impact principally for low input voltage, low output voltage applications. The device uses an internal charge pump which reaches full performance levels for VIN ≥ 2.2V or with the help of a voltage source at the BIAS pin (VBIAS ≥ 3V) for low VIN applications, hence the device performs better. For higher input voltages (VIN ≥ 2.2V) the device performance would not improve significantly by using a BIAS voltage source. Thanks!
