Use the iic communication under advanced comm in bqstudio to change the register values as described on page 20-21 in the BQ34Z100-G1 Technical Reference Manual file. And finds the following questions:

1. Is this value written to 0x40 or 0x4b, theoretically it would be written to 0x40:

2. (whether written to 0x40, 0x4b) Read and write to file, and after step 10, read out the register to be written and change back to the original value:

Make sure to follow the steps outlined in this application note carefully: https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slua790

It's very common to miscalculate the checksum or accidently send the wrong command at the wrong time.

Thanks for your reply, and the customer has followed the step in the application you provided, but still cannot change the value of the register, the chip is unlocked either.

Hello Cherry,

Are they able to write any dataflash? Without using the advanced communication?

The gauge may block flash writes if voltage is too low (Flash Update OK Voltage)
