Besides BQ33100, is there latest one in development or any device suggestion?
Application: Energy storage system module in Motor Drive application.
Cap configuration: 8S
Bias Power: 24V

Hello Brian,
This is the only supercap monitor device we have, I don't believe any others are planned currently.

Hello Wyatt,
Thanks for comments. Regarding to the BQ33100, there are few questions.
1. In the Fig. 5 learning diagram, the charge current is started from 500mA, it looks there is a current souring inside the device to make this behavior, right? Because we don't see the current sourcing in the block diagram, we would like to double confirm on this!
2. Customer now is planning to use 100F supercap in the application, if this is a case, how's the timing of the learning curve. as my understanding, when the charging current is 0.5A, the learning curve timing should be longer, correct?
Please help to comment on this if possible. thanks.

Hello Brian,
The device does not source or sink current, it only controls the CHG path, as you can see in the simplified schematic in the datasheet and the EVM schematic.
I'm not sure about your timing question, depending on the size of the capacitor and the amount of source/sink current is available the time will change for the learning.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
