BQ76942: Fuse blow condition

Part Number: BQ76942

Hi Matt,

During testing, I have found out some problems of fuse blow function. I have set protection config 0x0102, that is to enable pf_fets  and fetf_fuse. And when I short chg mosfet, I can get Cfet fail status. But the fuse pin of the chip don't assert to blow the fuse. Why?

And I have another question, that is why the sum of cell voltage is not equal to stack voltage? and the Pack voltage is about 1.5V less than the real voltage?

Thank you for your help. I am waiting for you reply.

  • Hi Sean,

Maybe you can send me the full register settings and I can try to see why the FUSE pin is not driving? Keep in mind the FUSE pin only asserts for the time set by the FUSE blow timeout - are you watching this on a scope?

The individual cell voltage measurements are trimmed in production so they are much more accurate than the PACK, LD, and Stack voltage measurements which are not trimmed. These measurements need calibration for better accuracy. Since the cell voltage measurements are more accurate, you can use these values to calculate the expected values for these measurements.

    Best regards,

    Matt
