BQ25790: BQ25790 QON for power reset

Part Number: BQ25790

Hi Team,

customer doesn't want the system power reset when there is logic low of tRST(typical 10s)  duration on QON pin. Can we remove that? If no, can we add the tRST to 20s?

From datasheet, we know 'A logic low of tRST (typical 10s) duration on QON pin' will result in a system power reset. if we set the SDRV_DLY to be 0, the power reset will happen in 20s (10s tRST + 10s delay), right?

  • Hello,

You can leave the QON pin floating if you do not wish to use it.

    Thanks,

    Mike Emanuel

  • Hi

don't want the system power reset when there is logic low of tRST(typical 10s)  duration on QON pin, but i need the ship mode function,so i can't  leave the QON pin floating.

  • Hello,

I am confused by your statement. You can control the Ship Mode with I2C.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Mike,

    Let me clarify our questions.

Currently in our test, we find if we set the SDRV_DLY = 1(disable the 10s delay), 10s-duration logic low on QON pin will not make the system power reset. And we need a 20s-duration logic low on QON pin to trigger the system power reset.

    Is that expected? Thanks.

  • Hello,

I tested the BQ25790 and have the following results:

When SDRV_DLY is 0, after holding QON for 10 seconds and waiting another 10 s, the system power is reset.

When SDRV_DLY is 1, after holding QON for 10 seconds, the system power is reset.

Please make sure you have SFET_PRESENT = 1.

    Thanks,

    Mike Emanuel
